Thomas L. Friedman hat uns vor einigen Jahren nicht nur eine Erklärung unseres globalen Miteinanders geschenkt („The World Is Flat“), er wirft ab und zu auch einen neugierigen Blick auf den Bildungsbereich („Come the Revolution“). In „While You Were Sleeping“ geht es um die Zukunft, um Quantencomputer, und wenn ich Thomas L. Friedman richtig verstehe, dann will er uns auf Großes vorbereiten, so groß, dass man die aktuellen Diskussionen um Künstliche Intelligenz und Algorithmen nur als Warmlaufen verstehen darf.
Natürlich werden diese Entwicklungen auch uns als Beteiligte und Betroffene einiges abverlangen. Hier wird jetzt Heather McGowan (www.futureislearning.com) zitiert:
„Therefore, education needs to shift “from education as a content transfer to learning as a continuous process where the focused outcome is the ability to learn and adapt with agency as opposed to the transactional action of acquiring a set skill,” said McGowan. “Instructors/teachers move from guiding and accessing that transfer process to providing social and emotional support to the individual as they move into the role of driving their own continuous learning.”
